House Of 1000 Glue Sticks
House of 1,000 Glue Sticks is a family of cosplayers from the Grand Rapids area. Thayne and Jennifer Dunahee have been cosplaying together with their four kids since 2014, but their cosplay journey began long ago with a love of Halloween. Jennifer grew up building elaborate props with her dad for their Halloween yard displays, and planning fanciful Halloween costumes with her mom, traditions she eventually carried on with her own family. Geek culture has always been another prominent aspect of their lives, and dressing in costume for book release parties and early movie screenings was just a given. However, it wasn’t until 2014, while preparing to attend the first Grand Rapids Comic Con, that they discovered cosplay, a hobby that combines their love of costuming and prop building with their affinity for geek culture. They’ve been hooked ever since!
House of 1,000 Glue Sticks is about designing and creating together as a family. Everyone gets involved and their house is always filled with costumes in various stages of construction. It’s always an adventure! Their favorite cosplays have included characters from Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Disney, Marvel, Harry Potter, Pokemon, Game of Thrones, and so many more. Their most ambitious project to date is a 20 foot long mechanical dragon puppet costume based on a Frost Dragon from the Skyrim video game. Frosty, as the family affectionately calls him, took three years to build, and now enjoys making appearances all over town. With so many creative forces in one family, there are always new ideas and exciting projects in the works!
The Hillsdale Batman is a Batman Cosplayer located in south central Michigan. Available for Charity events, Hospital Visits, Parties, fundraisers and more.
Ever since I was a little kid, I've been fascinated with Superheroes and always wanted to meet and be like the ones I saw in the movies.
I never got to meet any growing up, so I've made it my life mission to make other kids dreams comes true now.
I love attending events of all kinds and putting smiles on faces of all ages. I never turn down requests for photo ops or Batman 'Autographs' and strive to remain very family friendly at all events I am asked to appear at.
She’s a Character Performer originating from Hillsdale, Michigan 🙂. With the help of her friend, she’s been doing hospital visits, charity events, special needs events, school events, etc( just about anything they’re asked to attend!) for several years now. ALWAYS for a free will donation: if they receive one- donations go back into purchasing toys for visits, and fuel to be able to keep doing what they love!
“I started dressing up for events because I seen how my autistic brother reacted to Batman at a birthday party. I love putting smiles on faces of special needs kids, the most! But we are just two friendly Superheroes- who enjoy putting smiles on children and adults’ faces!”
Please feel free to give my a look (or a like) 😉
